How Do We Get More Student Participation On EaglePost?

Postby baldeagle on Fri Jul 20, 2007 11:39 pm

I've tried ads in the Printz. I've tried passing out cards on campus.

I know this isn't facebook or myspace, but I would think that more students would find these forums and make them home.

Any ideas?

noone actually looks at the advertisements in the printz i'm sure, so maybe you could get BYX to right a complete article to go in the paper saying how great Eaglepost.net is. i'm pretty sure anyone can submit a personal opinion article and they have to put it in. if not let me know and i know someone who i think is still at USM on the pritz who can probably get it in. anything you think i can do to help let me know i am all about trying to get the students more involved with their school athletics. even though i am not a student anymore i plan on sitting in the student section still and have several friends who are still students. seems like some of the guys that are in the legacy would be on here from time to time.

You should probably make a facebook group. I don't know if it'd help very much, but it couldn't hurt.

Im pretty sure theres a lot of students that read eaglepost but they just go to the main message board... probably not much of us post too much because we are largely under informed as to what is going on as a student body

That seems a bit strange to hear. But I guess I can understand where you're coming from. I figure some of you have information that we'd never get, like new player sightings, insight on how the players feel about the coach, such and such is really hitting the weights and it shows, etc.

But besides that, this isn't just a sports site. The Student section is yours to use as you see fit. I will gladly make changes (i.e., add forums, have a verified student forum, etc.) to make it what you want it to be. I can't match the bells and whistles of facebook, but I will do my best to make this site what you want it to be.
