I won't disagree that we have lost a lot or respect, but I wouldn't go as far to say that we are viewed as a bad team. I think we have a case of Arkansas State fans that are on cloud 9 because they beat a bad A&M team (remember how we felt after beating Nebraska a few years ago, and Nebraska wasn't as bad as this Aggie team) and then waxed the floor with a terrible 1AA school (Texas State makes ULaLa look like USC). I don't think we are light years ahead of them becasue they have a decent football team, but I think their fans have the impression that they are better then they are right now. We probably won't blow them out, but we will win this game. It will be fun to see if their board has a meltdown on Sunday. Even better, if we do lose, can you imagine the meltdown that this place and BGN will have.

Completely agree, 78. I saw no quit in this team when I was in Auburn. I saw a couple of recievers quit on plays, but the team played hard until the clock read 00:00.

I remember when Bama and Auburn and FSU said "Uh oh" when facing USM...now they treat us like a UTEP, SMU or Tulane.

I believe LF WILL get the swagger back, but until I see us step up (and maybe it WILL be this week) , I see no reason to believe we won't play lackadaisacally, uptight and confused...

Sure will take some time but it is already surfacing. You may actually have to get out the house and go to a game to see it though. They don't show it on a ESPN ticker. It may have been hard to see it against the #9 team in college football, at their place, in front of 85K, with a freshman QB, and lots of other first timers on the field. But that attitude is gone for the most part IMO.

We have some of the worst series in the history of football each week...and I see Fresno, Boise, BYU, TCU, ECU WITH THE FRIGGIN' ATTITUDE WE USED TO HAVE...and it pisses me off...

There is a huge difference between our team having the deer in the headlights look against #9 Auburn and us playing Arkansas State. The two situations are not even remotely close. We were outmanned at Auburn. That won't be the case in Arkansas.

Even Reggie Collier said today that he was start struck the first time he went into Tallahassee (and he wasn't even playing) and then when he first played in that atmosphere at Bama. Its a part of the game.

Give them a break a little time to get this thing going. . . hell most of you gave the last one a break for 17 years!

I'm very calm. It's a slow afternoon at work, and I'm just glad that some debate got stirred up to pass the time

We can't base anything this team will do on what the last coaching administration did or anything in USM's past. I have already seen halftime adjustments, I'm sold

I promise you the team learned from how they came out at Auburn. Ex:

"It was one of those days you have to work," Barragan said. "We have to bounce back from Auburn. As a defense, we decided we had to let it go in practice."

For Barragan, recovering from the 27-13 loss on the road isn't as easy at is for some.

"We feel like we let that one slip away," the California native said. "It kind of sits in my stomach for three days. Today, it's outs of there. I have to start watching some NFL films to get away from it all, or I'll call my brother back home. It's been sitting there for three days but now we have to get ready for Arkansas State. Hopefully we'll come out strong and come out on top."
